Challenging the Students

We have been busy challenging the youth at Latvian universities and we intend to go on with that. By launching an Internship Program for summer of 2016, we step in the shoes of a Mentor, a new challenge for us.

Following the great experience we’ve had from Career Day back in October (read on that here), it felt natural to follow the act and do even more. During March and April SSC has participated in career fairs at RTU (March 3rd), TSI (March 23rd) and SSE Riga (April 8th), speaking to young people and encouraging them to apply their skills and knowledge to practice.

And what better place to do that than the welcoming family of SSC, we thought. Following the career fairs, young talents were invited to visit SSC for a playful brunch where they could get inspired by our best of the best. Brunch was held in three sessions on March 21st, April 4th and April 7th, gathering almost 80 students. While joining in different activities with SSC employees, they could get to know a bit more about our values and what it is that we do here.

As much as we like games, we are hard workers too. With more than 20 open vacancies we expect young and ambitious people to join our team, launching an Internship program for summer 2016.

The internship at SSC offers 22 paid positions in IT and 1 in Finance, allowing students to work full time with the possibility to also spend a day in other departments once a week during their internship. Internship is for June, July and August, with the possibility to have a full time job after the program.

General requirements are – good English and a desire to learn, with some positions also requiring specific skills. Applying to the Internship program is from April 11 – April 24 via e-mail t2ssc_internship@tele2.com by sending a CV, Motivation letter, Transcript of records and Recommendations (preferred) with a reference to the University in the subject line.
