On February 15th, at Tele2 Shared Service Center Shadow Day was held during which youngsters shadowed 8 employees for following positions: Marketing Manager, Junior System Developer, two Specialists of Internet of Things, HR recruiter, Delivery Manager and Specialist of 1st level support.
Students had a chance to learn how mobile calls and SMS sending/receiving work, what is the Internet of Things and how it operates, and experience the daily routine of programmers and other expertise.
‘We are interested towards challenging the prejudice about IT industry, what it is like to work in here and who can do that. And Shadow Day is a perfect activity to enlighten students about industry, give the insider information and break the existing stereotypes. During the day school students were provided with an opportunity to see themselves how we work and that engaging in IT sphere is truly amazing and breathtaking’ claimed Kim Leanderson, General Manager of Tele2 Shared Service Center.
Jūlija Gornostajeva, 11th grade student shared the following impression: ‘It is really amazing to have a job at such a good company which cares not only about itself as business but also about its clients and last but not the least its employees. Here everything is done to make sure that everyone is happy with their work/product. It’s a company where attitude matters (I ensured it as I shadowed Marketing Manager whose aim is to make Tele2 SSC a company which potential staff members would like to join)’.
We were extremely happy to host and open our doors to 28 talented students.
