NETCOM LOWERS COMVIQ AND TELE2MOBILE EVENING AND WEEKEND MOBILE TARIFFS
New York and Stockholm - February 25, 2000 - NetCom AB ("NetCom") (Nasdaq
Stock Market: NECS), the leading provider of telecommunication services in
the Nordic countries, the Baltic region and Poland, today announced that
it will lower its evening and weekend tariffs for a number of Comviq and
Tele2Mobile subscriptions and prepaid cards. The new tariffs will be
effective from March 1, 2000. On April 1, a call initiation charge for
each call will be introduced for these subscriptions and prepaid cards.
The new evening and weekend tariff for the affected subscriptions and
prepaid cards will be 0.75 SEK (incl VAT) per minute. The new call
initiation charge will be 0.40 SEK (incl VAT) per call. The subscriptions
not affected by these changes are "Comviq Dag", "Comviq Kväll",
"Comviq Kväll med pott" and the Comviq Millennium Prepaid card. The
evening and weekend tariff for Comviq Millennium will be lowered to 0.40
SEK per minute.
Fredrik Berglund, Marketing Director of NetCom stated "With this price
reduction we confirm our position as price leaders on the Swedish GSM
market. Many of our different subscriptions already have a very low
tariff, 0.40 SEK, during evenings and weekends. With this price reduction
the evening and weekend tariffs for most other subscriptions becomes 0.75
SEK. When we introduce our opening fee on the same price level as Telia's
opening fee it will become easier for consumers and corporations to
compare our subscriptions and se who has the lowest tariffs."
