Tele2 always provides the Best Deal by offering price leading and easy-to-use communication services with expected quality. We provide residential and business customers with products and services in mobile telephony, in some countries complemented by fixed telephony, fixed broadband, cable TV and content services.

Mobile services

Mobile telephony

Tele2 currently offers mobile telephony in eight countries. In most of these countries we provide mobile telephony to both private and business customers. We control the network in six countries and lease network capacity from other operators under MVNO agreements in two.

Tele2 offers competitively priced, easy-to-use services, both in the postpaid and in the prepaid segments. We hold market-leading positions in prepaid mobile telephony in several countries under successful brands, e.g. Comviq in Sweden and Zelta Zivtina in Latvia.

In the corporate segment, we also offer more advanced services, in order to satisfy the need for buying communication as a service. One example is “Tele2 Direct”, a network-based company switchboard service, which was launched in Sweden in spring 2009.

New technologies will change our customer’s behaviour. At Tele2 we believe that the mobile phone will more and more become the communication tool of choice both for consumers as well as for corporate users. An increasing number of functions are being built into the new mobile devices and the trend is clear, more customers cut the cord and move from fixed to mobile services.

Tele2 should focus on a few good VAS (Value Added Services) where there is a strong demand. This could be e-mail functionality, messaging service or a mobile office solution. At the same time, Tele2 should also provide the platform that let our customers use any other service that might be of interest for them. Hence, we should invite third party providers that can use our customer base to distribute interesting and attractive content and by doing so create new revenue streams.

Mobile internet

Tele2 offers mobile Internet services in Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia and the Netherlands. Our price-leading prepaid offerings in these markets are attracting new user segments.Our prepaid mobile Internet service has been a big success, especially in Sweden and Croatia. The service enables high-speed Internet access virtually anywhere on ultraportable devices.

Mobile Internet is still typically used as a complement to fixed broadband. The customer demand for mobile internet will increase as the service evolves. With the new 4G network in Sweden we will be able to offer a mobile internet service that can truly compete with fixed services. We have continuously improved the quality and the speed in our mobile networks. Together with our price leading offers, we believe that the coming years will show robust customer growth.

Fixed broadband

Tele2 serves households and businesses in five countries with fixed broadband services. All countries have mature fixed broadband markets where customers expect high reliability and value for money. In addition to broadband services based on DSL, Tele2 offers fiber services in Sweden to households and businesses requiring very high bandwidth.

In the corporate segment, Tele2 is among the top operators in the Austrian, Dutch and Swedish markets, providing advanced data network services, security solutions and hosting possibilities. In the small business segment, we offer cost-efficient fixed broadband and telephony packages.

Complex business services, community services and on-line video/IPTV are driving demand for increased speed for fixed broadband access. We believe that this trend for high bandwidth services will continue.

Fixed telephony

Tele2 offers fixed telephony services for households and businesses in seven countries. We offer both IP telephony solutions and traditional fixed telephony. However, use of traditional fixed telephone line is declining in pace with growth in mobile segment.

Even though the customer base is declining it represents a good platform for cross-selling other products, in particular broadband. The more products the customer has with Tele2, the more loyal the customer becomes. For the last couple of years there has been a declined interest in the fixed telephone services. We are keeping our investments in fixed telephony down to a minimum, in order to generate a good cash flow, which we can use as we continue to expand in mobile telephony.
