Vision and Approach

The core of Tele2’s operations is communication. This is a fundamental element in our society and plays an important role in people’s lives throughout the globe. We want everyone to have access to attractively priced, easy-to-use communication services.

To that end, Tele2 must be able to compete under the same conditions as others. Therefore, we fight hard for fair legislation and a correct application of regulations. Our efforts have not been in vain; we have improved competition in each part of the European telecommunication markets where we operate. This has resulted in lower prices, which are essential to the long-term development of society and free enterprise.

At the heart of Tele2’s commitment to its stakeholders is the aim to increase the sustainability of what the company does. Tele2’s aspiration is to deliver sustainable and superior results as an effect of its business practices.

It is important to stress that this is the starting point of a more formalized sustainability process at Tele2. It outlines what we do today but, more importantly, we view it as a basis for a conversation, internally and externally, on the scope of Tele2’s responsibility in society. Over the next few years, Tele2 will extend the scope of its sustainability reporting to cover operations in all the markets where the company is present.

The figures in the sustainability section refer to the Swedish operations and the calendar year 2009, unless otherwise stated. Tele2 has strived to be as transparent, accurate, consistent and complete as possible.
