Included in the FTSE4Good Index Series
In October 2014 Tele2 became included in the FTSE4Good Index Series. The FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. The model that is used when reviewing companies include 300 Indicators, 14 Themes and 3 Pillars. Companies receives points in everything from labour standards and Human rights to anti-corruption and climate change. The criteria are based only on publicly available data. According to FTSE4 Good, this improves the credibility of data and enhances transparency across the market.

Each company in the research universe is given a FTSE ESG Rating ranging from 0 to 5, with 5 being the highest rating. Only companies with a FTSE ESG Rating of 3.5 and above can become added to the Index.

Morgan Stanley upgrade
In spring 2014, Tele2 got a double upgrade to ‘A’ from ‘BB’ by MSCI, Morgan Stanley’s global index of stock markets. MSCI World Socially Responsible Indices include companies with very high Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) ratings relative to their sector peers. 

 

Tele2 top rated in Child Protection
In spring 2014, Tele2 received the highest rating for Child Protection in a survey from the Global Child Forum conducted by the Boston Consulting Group. The study assessed how more than 1,032 publicly listed companies in 45 sectors (including ICT) addressed and reported on children’s rights. The industry sectors were chosen based on their exposure to children’s rights issues. Tele2 was one out of only 14 companies that scored 9/9 in this evaluation. Read the full report here. 

 

Nordea rated Tele2 as A+ 
In the end of 2013, Nordea rated Tele2 as A+ for its Environment Social Governance (ESG) work.That is the highest possible grade, in a scale from C-, C, C+, B- etc to A+, and means that Tele2 is a good Environment Social Governance (ESG) investment. In the report, Nordea stated that: "The company seems to be aware of all the industry’s key issues and have all policies in place for this and much more.” 

 

Tele2 anti-corruption - ranked best by Transparency International Sweden
In the beginning of 2015, Transparency International Sweden reviewed Sweden's 20 largest companies and looked into the reporting and transparency of their anti-corruption work. The survey included three aspects: internal programs, transparency in organizational structure and country by country reporting. Tele2 was rated best in Sweden and the results also held up well in the international comparison, according to Transparency International. Read the full study here.
