Meet Kerstin

Kerstin Mjömark, Head of HR, Shared Operations

Kerstin Mjömark works as Head of HR, Shared Operations, at Tele2. As Head of HR, she ensures that HR processes are effective and that local and international managers receive the HR-support they need.

Tell us a bit about your background!

I studied Business at Uppsala University and after graduating I began working in the finance department at a medical company. A little while later I got the opportunity to work with more HR-related issues. I took the chance and it became a very good way of learning about HR. When I later changed employer, I got to work even more broadly with HR issues, everything from managing the trainee program to internal communication.

And six years ago, you started at Tele2. Is that right?

Yes, I was contacted regarding a combined roll as HR-controller and HR Business Partner and in my time at Tele2 I have also been involved in several different projects relating to HR-processes in other markets. Then Shared Operations was formed and I was asked to become the Head of HR. Today I work full time in that position and find it very exciting!

What do you do at work?

My work is about organizing HR-processes and supporting managers in their work, which can be everything from leadership questions to informing employees about reorganizations. As Tele2 is an international organization, managers are often put in very unusual situations. A manager in Sweden, for example, can have employees in both Sweden and Latvia and the recruiting processes are different in each country and the working cultures differ.

Do you like having a lot going on in your spare time?

Yes, absolutely. I have a lot of hobbies as I've learnt that that's when I'm the most comfortable. If I don't get enough variation I don't have fun. I spend most of my time playing volleyball, but I also play golf and go biking. In the winter I ski and skate. And I am also into hunting!
