IT Talent

What does it mean being an IT talent?
For me, it means two things at once. First, having the chance of self-growth and development in a place that utilizes information technologies at almost every level. And second, being trained by highly skilled professionals to be competent in industrial working standards.

Describe a typical day at work!
My day starts with reading e-mails and checking my calendar. Then, we have the daily stand-up meetings with our team in which we exchange information about the tasks that we are working on. And of course, in between work and meetings, fika and lunch with colleagues!

What are the highlights of your day?
Starting the day with a nice cup of coffee at the top floor at the HQ office, where I can enjoy the nice view in the lounging area. Also, finishing the workday with the satisfaction of developing and learning new things.

How do you spend your free time?
Exercising is one of my daily musts. I like to run, cycle or swim (depending on the Swedish weather). Also, I love to spend time with my family and friends. It can be a simple dinner, or fika of course!

Best experience at Tele2 so far?
Meeting with people from different organizational parts and levels of Tele2 and seeing how helpful, open and easy-to-communicate they are. You always feel that your opinion is valued, discussed and taken into consideration.

What is your best career advice for students who are about to start their careers?Everyone is different and has different priorities regarding their careers. But, if they want to kickstart their career by learning and developing in a structured way, programs such as the IT Talent program may offer the best combination of the two worlds. Major technology companies such as Tele2 operate using a large variety of tech stack, and they can choose which way to go according to their interests.

Which is your favorite company value?
My personal favorite is Reliable.  I find this value quite applicable and important not only as a telco but as a software developer on individual level.

What is most interesting/exciting about working at Tele2?
At the Tele2, you can find laboratories with Faraday cages as well as network operation centers resembling a NASA mission control center with huge screens and monitors on the walls. There is so much going on here and working as a part of it is absolutely exciting. 

What is the working environment like?
We have a new, fantastic high-tech office with unlimited coffee. There are large meeting areas that we collaborate with collogues, as well as quiet rooms that we can work in a relaxed manner and have private online meetings. Working environment here evolves and changes according to your needs throughout the day, which is perfect!
