IT Talent

What does it mean being an IT talent?
It means being part of a 10-month program designed for you to focus on learning and developing your skills, both through courses and by working with real industry projects with your team. It’s a great first step in your career!

Describe a typical day at work!
My days usually starts with a standup meeting with my team where we discuss the tasks of the day, followed by either mob programming together or me taking courses to learn something new. When working at the office I usually see the other talents over lunch. The day then continues with meetings, mob programming or learning through courses!

What are the highlights of your day?
To meet and catch up with the other talents over lunch or afternoon break! It’s really nice to meet up after a day with our teams to talk about our days and different experiences. We’re all part of the Talent program and therefore in the same position, but in separate teams. It’s nice to have each other!

What surprised you the most when you started at Tele2?
Many things surprised me when I started at Tele2. Most of all, I was surprised that the atmosphere was so open and including and that the company’s core values were so imprinted in the workplace culture. I experience that Tele2 indeed lives by the values and that it’s not just something for show.

How was the recruitment process?
Long! And nice, at the same time. It stood out from others’, and I appreciated the thorough process. By having several interviews, and thereby meeting many people, you really got a feeling of the honest and open atmosphere at the company, which gave a sneak peak of the working environment and what to expect. This made me feel like Tele2 was the right workplace for me. 

Why do you recommend applying for the program?
The talent program is a great opportunity to start your career! It’s a pleasant – but challenging – start into working life. It’s very valuable to get all the support that is included in the program. I find that the program provides a perfect balance between challenge and support. 

What motivates you being at Tele2?
It’s fun and motivating to work with a technology and service that impacts society to such an extent, and that I myself use daily, and have used since I got my first phone as a child.

What is your best career advice for students who are about to start their careers?
Try to get enrolled in a trainee program such as the IT Talent program! That’s my best career advice. Also, find a company that rewards learning, gives you enough time and space to grow, and that shares your values.

How much time to get to spend with the other IT talents?  
At least one entire day a week, but we also see each other over lunch or afternoon breaks and keep daily contact over Teams. I genuinely appreciate hanging out with the other IT Talents and am thankful for the days we get together!
