Tele2 and Telenor are testing LTE Advanced – results of 290 Mbit/s

The first versions of LTE Advanced has been tested and resulted in very high 4G speeds. Future versions of LTE Advanced will reach 1000 Mbit/s.

-We want to offer our customers the best user experience and therefore constantly evaluate and examine our ever-changing technologies. The test has gone really well and we have come up in speeds of 290 Mbit/s. LTE Advanced will be rolled out as soon as the technology matures and our customers demand it, says Alexandra Drevenlid, CTO of Tele2 Sweden.
The tests were conducted with the network provider Huawei in the 2600 Mhz band. Tele2’s 4G network now covers 5 million people and at the end of 2012, the goal is to cover 99 percent of the population.
