TELE2 LAUNCHES FIXED LINE OPERATIONS IN IRELAND
New York and Stockholm - Tele2 AB, ("Tele2"), (Nasdaq Stock Market: TLTOA and TLTOB and Stockholmsbörsen: TEL2A and TEL2B), the leading alternative pan-European telecommunications company, today announced that it will launch cheap and simple fixed telephony to the residential market in Ireland as of September 1, following the successful U.K. launch.
Lars-Johan Jarnheimer, CEO of Tele2 commented; "This is a natural step following our launch in the U.K. last October. The Irish customers will be able to lower their telephony bills significantly with Tele2's low prices and simple pricing structure, just like in the rest of Europe. We see great potential for our Irish operations, especially as, at a limited cost, we will coordinate marketing and other functions with our operations in the U.K., where we have built up a distinct brand during the past year."
