Tele2 hosts NGMN board meeting in Stockholm
The NGMN Alliance (Next Generation Mobile Networks Alliance) is an open forum founded by world-leading mobile network operators. Its goal is to ensure that the standards for next generation network infrastructure, service platforms and devices will meet the requirements of operators and, ultimately, will satisfy end user demand and expectations.
The NGMN board consist of executives from the world’s largest telecom operators. Each board meeting is hosted by one of the members in their country. This time it is hosted by Tele2 AB and Niklas Sonkin, EVP and acting CTIO.
Niklas Sonkin, EVP and acting CTIO at Tele2 AB comments: “We are very happy to be the hosts of this board meeting. I am looking forward to fruitful discussions with industry colleagues and to plan the upcoming work with for example the development of 5G technology together with them.”
In March 2015, NGMN released a white paper on 5G where they delivered key end-to-end operator requirements intended to guide the development of future technology platforms and related standards, create new business oppurtunities and satisfy future end-user needs.
