Tele2 is one of the winners when the auction about the new generation mobile network in Sweden concluded today. With the frequencies for 4G that Tele2 in Sweden now has been awarded, Tele2 will be able to build the next generation mobile network offering access speeds of more than 10 times faster than today's network.

The frequencies for 4G that Tele2 now has received in Sweden Tele2 will be able to build the next generation mobile network offering access speeds of more than 100 Mbps. The license is not subjected to any conditions regarding the population coverage or network build-out in Sweden.
The license is valid for 15 years and the cost for the frequency blocks totalling 2x 20 MHz in the 2,6 GHz band are SEK 548 million. The payment will be made to the Swedish Post and Telecom Agency in the second quarter of 2008.
