Press release Tele2 Group Sep 13 2009, 12:23 PM CET

TELE2 is Coming to the Republic of Adygeya

TELE2 Russia, the Russian subdivision of one of the leading European telecommunication companies, announces that it is entering the cellular market in the Republic of Adygeya, thus expanding its network coverage in Russia to include as many as 24 regions.

In 2008, TELE2 Russia purchased Adygeya Cellular Communications that held a GSM1800 license in the Republic of Adygeya. A common managing company was created to manage operations in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygeya. The company was in charge of rolling out a cellular network in both of those regions. In November 2008, a cellular network was launched in the Krasnodar Territory and a minor part of the Republic of Adygeya. The full-scale commercial launch of the TELE2 network in the Republic of Adygeya took place on September 12, 2009.

Alexander Sergeev, TELE2 Russia West General Director:

- With the network launch in the Republic of Adygeya, TELE2 continues its geographic expansion in the Southern Federal District. Our network in the Rostov region has a long history of successful operation; last summer we started offering affordable roaming for our Russian subscribers at resorts in the Krasnodar Territory, followed by a full-scale cellular network launch in the Krasnodar Territory in the autumn. We are currently launching a network in the Republic of Adygeya. Our strategy remains the same in all regions regardless of circumstances: affordable prices combined with European-level customer service.

Murad Abakarov, TELE2 Adygeya and TELE2 Krasnodar Regional Managing Director:

- As of the launch time, the TELE2 network will be available in Maykop and Adygeisk, the residential communities of Yablonovsky, Enem and Tulsky, Cossack villages of Giaginskaya and Khanskaya, the village of Krasnogvardeyskoye, and the mountain villages of Takhtamukay, Koshelhabl and Ponezhukay. Work on expansion of coverage will go on, and new towns and villages will appear on our map in the nearest time. I would also like to emphasize that the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygeya make up a single communication space: the same tariffs apply in both territories, and there is no roaming when travelling between these two constituent entities of the Federation.

Subscribers are offered three tariff plans targeted at different needs. "Simply for Communication" is suitable for those who like sending many SMS and talking for over one minute. The price of outgoing SMS as well as the first ten minutes of conversation with all mobile operators of the region, starting from the second minute, is just 5 kopecks. The best way to save on frequent but short calls is to join the "Balance" tariff plan. Outgoing calls within the network and SMS messages cost just 10 kopecks per minute/message, while calls to other operators' numbers, including fixed-line phones, are charged at 60 kopecks per minute. The "Hello to the Homeland" tariff is optimal for those subscribers who make frequent calls within Russia and to CIS countries. One minute of conversation or one SMS within the network costs 10 kopecks in the Krasnodar Territory and 1.5 roubles in all other regions. Outgoing calls to numbers of other Russian mobile operators and to the CIS countries are charged at only 5 roubles per minute. Detailed information on tariff plans is available on the company's website and in information flyers.

Virtually all basic and additional services will be available to all subscribers immediately after the launch: SMS, MMS, WAP, GPRS/EDGE Internet, Caller ID Display and Caller ID Blocking, Voice Mail, "Active Zero", "Who Called", "Promised Payment", etc. The company also offers advantageous intra-network roaming conditions as well as inexpensive international roaming.

Setup packages will be sold through the company's own sales and service centres, dealer stores, and alternative sales channels such as mobile stands. The Subscriber Service Centre will open its doors to customers at the following address: 29 Zhukovskogo St., Maykop.
