Adrian Bäck

Trainee CEO

Adrian grew up in Stockholm and studied Industrial Engineering & Management at KTH, majoring in Financial Mathematics.

Along the way he spent a year in Singapore, studying financial mathematics at NTU, and one on NUS's entrepreneurship program, where he also worked at a Singaporean CVC investing in agri-foodtech startups across East Asia.

Most recently Adrian has been on the investment side, as an intern on Industrifonden's deep tech team evaluating startups in everything from fusion energy and datacenter infrastructure to defence tech.

In his free time, Adrian enjoys training, travelling, trying new experiences and spending time in the countryside. He also has a long-term goal of completing the Swedish Classic Circuit.

What attracted you to Tele2?

Understanding how to think strategically is an art that, I think, you only can get better at through experience. This is the exposure that the trainee role offers and what attracted me to Tele2. To learn from challengers who know the industry inside out and are still not comfortable with it.

What will you be doing as an CEO trainee?

I will be working closely with our CEO Nicholas Högberg and the Group Leadership Team, supporting them in their daily work and sitting close to the decisions that set the direction for the company. Beyond that, I will take ownership of projects across the organisation.

What are you most looking forward to during the year?

What I am most excited about is learning to lay out the puzzle that management works on every day. To be part of Tele2's development going into an era where I think you have to challenge a lot of conventional ideas because of AI, geopolitics, new market conditions, etc., to stay competitive in the business.

Which of Tele2’s core values resonates with you the most, and why?

Be Brave. Having spent a lot of time around startup founders, I learned to have a shorter distance between having an idea and doing something about it. Meaning to act before it feels safe, and being comfortable being wrong out loud if it means learning faster.
