Meet Malin

Malin Ahlqvist, EVP CFO Trainee

What does it mean being a CFO trainee?
To be a CFO trainee means that I have the opportunity to follow and learn from the group CFO as well as supporting other managers within the finance functions when needed. I get to be a part of interesting meetings like the Audit Committee and the preparation for the quarterly reports.

What are the highlights of your day?
As every day is different I don’t have a standing highlight of my day. However, the time I get to spend with my executive is the best part of my day, both during weekly check-ins’ but also just a few minutes after different meetings to be able to ask questions.

What surprised you the most when you started at Tele2?
I was surprised by the trust Tele2 give to you as a trainee from day one when it comes to confidential information, and also how fast you start to develop a relationship with the executives.

What is most interesting/exciting about working at Tele2?
The most interesting and exciting thing about working at Tele2 is the mentality that everything is possible and that you can always find ways to improve. Other than that, from a financial point of view it is very exciting to see how the top management is navigating the market and turning the company to gain organic growth and that they updated their guidance accordingly during the Q2 report.

What is the working environment like?
Everyone is very friendly and love to share their experience within the field they work. You always get the help you need, all you have to do is reach out!

Which is your favorite company value?
Fearless. Don’t ever stop challenging yourself, it’s when you are outside of your comfort zone you will learn the most!

What is your best career advice for students who are about to start their careers?
To be open minded. Sometimes areas that you never thought would interest you as a career option will surprise you when you start to scrape the surface of it!

Don’t ever stop challenging yourself, it’s when you are outside of your comfort zone you will learn the most!
