Andreas Sjöberg

Who are you and what are you doing today? 

I’m a technology interested developer whose interest in programming was raised relatively late. But once I started, it didn't take long before I was stuck. Today I work in a team called TNT within the BSS Developments department. We are responsible for contract management, document flows and billing-related services and I work mostly with back-end development in Java. 

How has the Program helped you in your current role?

In addition to giving me introductions to a lot of different technologies and frameworks, it has given me points of contact throughout the IT-organization as well showing me the importance of constantly being curious and wanting to learn new things. 

A fond memory from the Program:

The first group project we did together within the program. We used mob programming to solve an issue within the user interface that our customer service uses. It was a lot of fun to work together and solve actual real life problems.

Why did you decide to stay at Tele2 after the Program?

Quite simply because I felt it was fun coming to work everyday. It’s also a very exciting time at the company, where the transformation within the IT-department as well as the organization as a whole creates a lot of interesting opportunities and a willingness to take risks. 

How does your work at Tele2 challenge you?

I get tasks that are interesting and push me to take responsibility for the design and testing of the code that I produce. That trust is a bit scary at first but it has really helped me grow immensely.

How does Tele2 support your development?

By giving clear career paths, goals and ways of achieving them, encouraging you to take part in knowledge workshops, lectures and an openness to testing out new technologies.

Best experience at Tele2 so far:

Probably the hackathon we had a couple of months after I started. We worked on a crypto system which was really interesting. It was also fun to see new and exciting ideas that other people came up with.
