Meet Eric

Eric Lindberg, Executive Trainee EVP Sweden Consumer

How did you learn about the Tele2 Executive trainee program?

Through the marketing done in several channels. In addition, the assessment day was a great opportunity to learn about the trainee program in depth.

What made you decide to apply for the trainee program?

I really liked the Tele2 story and how the trainee program is structured. This combination was simply too exciting to miss out on.

What made Tele2 stand out from other employers?

Again, I think Tele2’s history of being a challenger is very appealing. Also, the speed in which the organization moves forward is incredible. I really enjoy being part of the journey!

What did you do before you entered the trainee program?

I studied business and economics in Lund for three years. Then I moved to Copenhagen where I studied for my master’s degree at CBS. In Copenhagen I also worked part time at a trading house specialized in agricultural commodity trading.

What surprised you the most when you started?

The amount of responsibility and trust you get from day one. There is just no time for a “soft” start.

How does your work at Tele2 challenge you?

In many ways! As you are given a lot of responsibility, you never know what is around the corner. As a pleasant consequence of this I am seldom in my comfort zone.

Describe a typical day at work?

There are usually lots of meetings that I can attend with my executive. I also spend much time in PowerPoint, various projects, and admin.

How does Tele2 support your development?

We go through several training sessions during our trainee year, such as presentation skills and time management. We are also assigned internal mentors who support us in our work. All mentors are former Tele2 trainees, why they can give current trainees good advice. Importantly, the great amount of guidance, feedback, and support I receive from my executive is really boosting my development.

What are your hobbies or passions outside of work?

I like to be out in the nature, a lot! Hunting, hiking, biking, skiing...

Best experience at Tele2 so far:

To get insight into several ongoing projects! For example, following the work related to the launch of Tele2’s mobile family offering was very interesting.

What is your best career advice for students who are about to start their careers?

I believe it is important to be able to feel a connection with the company’s culture. If you can identify with a company’s values, the chance of finding the right fit is probably greater than if you would find yourself in the opposite position.
