How does your work at Tele2 challenge you?
In so many ways! The short answer is that being an employee at Tele2 means that you will always get challenged. It also means you have the opportunity to continually develop . Likewise, will you be able to challenge Tele2 as a company to help develop our world class services, quality and business.
What surprised you the most when you started?
Definitely the complexity of how tele- and data communications operates and is regulated. Most of what´s happening with GDPR and the NIS-directive have in fact been requirements for many years for how all telco services must operate and store and handle data.
Tell us about a major challenge that you have faced at work?
When I started in 2015, my expertise within Tele2 was almost unique and at the same time my knowledge of tele- and data communications was close to zero. Because need for knowledge about protective security measures I was useful from day 1. After about one year at Tele2, my new manager gave me the responsibility of building and managing a protective security organization and from that day we have built an organization where protective security knowledge, security controls and compliance review is implemented across Tele2.
This has also meant that Tele2 has been able grow in the business-to-business segment and can deliver Tele2's services to government agencies, municipalities, companies and banks. The opportunity to both develop myself and Tele2 has been fundamental in my own personal growth and a great challenge.
What have been some of your favorite projects?
I have always enjoyed building long-term relationships with the customers, especially government agencies, which often have specific needs and requirements related to security and protective security. I think it is a useful reminder that our services are vital for our customers' success.
Describe the culture at Tele2?
It is warm, honest, supportive and challenging. Working at Tele2 means you will always go the extra mile for our customers and your Tele2-collegues. In return you will always have someone to watch your back and support you when needed.
What advice would you give to a person who would like to start their career at Tele2?
When I started at Tele2, I could never have imagined how it would turn out. Tele2 has definitely given me the opportunity to go from good to great. The best advice if you're new would be to contribute with what you know best, be eager to learn more and always act in accordance with Tele2's core values.
