Meet Sara

Sara Stenmark, IT Talent

What does it mean being IT talent?

For me, it means getting the opportunity to continue the learning process from university in a real life environment with amazing support and endless possibilities.

What made Tele2 stand out from other employers?

The friendly, welcoming atmosphere as well as the possibility to learn and evolve in a big company with a strong culture.

Describe a typical day at work?

We always start the day with a daily standup meeting where we go through the tickets – the ones currently in progress as well as the ones in the backlog – and vent how the work is going. Throughout the day, there are usually a lot of meetings combined with independent work. I always have an ongoing conversation with my mentor and others in the team regarding the work I’m currently doing, so I feel supported at all times if I have questions (which I do. A lot!).

What did you do before you entered the IT talent program?

I have a bachelor’s degree in computer science with specialization in digital media, so my education wasn’t very computer technical at a whole actually. It contained everything from journalism and film production to programming and 3D-modelling. I realized along the way that programming was the way to go, and continued another year with courses in game development.

What is the working environment like?

I like the flow of the day where we have social interactions during meetings as well as time to work independently on our own projects or tasks. Everyone is helpful and open about their progress and struggles.

Tell us a great challenge that you have been faced with at work?

My first contribution in the team to a real code base – exciting, challenging and terrifying!

How do you spend your free time?

In the woods or near any kind of water, preferably running. Alternatively playing pool and drinking raspberry beer with my friends or eating pasta.
