Our approach to Sustainability
Tele2 is proud to call itself a Responsible Challenger. Sustainability can be found at the heart of the company's Corporate Strategy house. This means that in all of our day-to-day business decisions, the company takes sustainability into account. We firmly believe that embracing sustainability leads to better choices and more value for our customers, stakeholders and employees.
The mobile industry is constantly moving: we connect more people and things to the Internet every day and they make more use of their connections than ever. Therefore it is increasingly important for us to work in a way that is sustainable. To accommodate this, we review our strategy for sustainability on a yearly basis.
Tele2 has identified five focus areas as the material areas to focus on. Those focus areas are:
- Ethics and Compliance
- Privacy and Integrity
- Diversity and Inclusion
- Child Protection
With our strategy we aim to make a positive contribution in all of these areas, and we reduce risks where we can. Our overall goals for these focus areas are:
- To become leading in doing ethical business
- To be trusted by customers and employees to handle their data
- To build an inclusive environment where diverse talent can perform at their best, and the diversity of our people broadly reflects the diversity of our customers
- To actively protect children in a connected world
- To contribute to and enable a sustainable society by being perceived as the greenest operator
Tele2 establishes concrete targets for all of the focus areas on a yearly basis. This helps us increase our focus on each topic, produce tangible results consistently and ultimately reach the goals we have set. Doing so also challenges us to increase our coordination in our activities on sustainability.

Governance of Sustainability in Tele2
Tele2 has a dedicated team that works on both the day-to-day sustainability efforts as well as the long term strategic planning for sustainability. Because sustainability is an integral part of Tele2's corporate strategy, people up to the highest governance bodies in the organization are involved.
The sustainability strategy is reviewed on a yearly basis. During the Annual Board Strategy session the sustainability strategy is proposed to the Board for feedback and approval. Once approved, it will be executed under the responsibility of the Tele2 Group Leadership Team. Individual members of the Leadership Team take the responsibility for a focus area that falls within their competence, and lead the work within the organization to achieve the targets that are set.
Day-to-day subjects are dealt with in a similar way. Developments, risks and opportunities related to sustainability are regularly discussed in the Board's Audit Committee and General meetings. Examples are the recurring reviews of the Tele2 Code of Conduct, and the implementation of an updated privacy framework. For each subject, there is a corresponding responsible member within the Leadership Team.
